Stretching for Pickleball and Tennis
Pickleball is a growing sport. You might think it’s just for the geriatric, but it’s grown in popularity to 4.8 million players in the U.S. It’s a mix of tennis and ping-pong and is super fun to play. With any popular sport, there can be specific injuries that tend to pop up. Tennis and pickleball are very similar in that they both involve a racquet or paddle and a net. Many former tennis players have switched over to pickleball because of its strategic play but also its fast-paced points.
To reduce the risk of injury during any sport, it’s always a good idea to stretch and prepare your body properly.
Common injuries in tennis and pickleball usually involve the shoulder and the knee.
